If you were hunting deep in the woods with a partner and they had a life-threatening injury from a fall or errant round would you be able to sustain their life until help arrives? What if someone sustained a lacerated artery during an automobile accident? Could you help that person survive until EMT’s are on the scene? If you want to learn to sustain a life during any situation of traumatic injury this course is for you! This course is designed around the USCCA’s Emergency First Aid Fundamentals course. Upon completion of this course, you will earn a “USCCA Proof Of Training Certificate” This certification meets OSHA first aid standards compliant with federal code of regulations, title 29. This is a full 8 hour class that is designed to give you important tools and knowledge to sustain someone’s life in the event of an emergency or accident until professional help arrives on the scene.
You’ll start out by learning how to make a basic assessment of the injured so you may implement the proper help and care needed to attempt to stabilize them while help is in-route. After you make an assessment you’ll learn how to treat traumatic injury, up to and including gun shot wounds. Properly handling medical emergencies both physically and mentally for the injured and yourself is also covered and mindset is just as important as your knowledge of treatment.
It is recommended you bring your own personal first aid kit to this class (it is not required to attend the class) This course provides you with the unique opportunity to bring in your own home first aid kit, travel first aid kit or crash bag so you can test the usefulness of your own set up. You’ll receive useful tips on how to properly build a first aid kit and see if your own setup needs additional equipment.
