Once you have obtained your CPL your training has just begun! Only having a CPL does not ready you for the many diverse situations you can find yourself in when you’re carrying your firearm in day-to-day life. If you run into a situation where you need to defend yourself using your firearm, its safe to say the conditions you will do so in probably won’t be as easy as standing up at the range and shooting at paper targets. That’s why we created adverse conditions training! This is a combination of low light shooting and alternative positions shooting. Learning how to use a flashlight or a weapon mounted light while deploying your firearm is imperative. You have a good chance of not being in favorable lighting if you ever need to defend yourself and being able to use a light in conjunction with your firearm could be the difference between a successful or unsuccessful defense. This is also an important skill to learn so you can properly identify your target. After a self defense situation, if you did not identify the proper target, there will be no way to defend yourself legally no matter what the lighting situation was like at the time of the event.
The other aspect you need to train for is shooting from a position other than standing and shooting straight. You may have to kneel, shoot prone or shoot around objects to defend yourself. In the second half of this class, you will learn how to properly shoot from multiple positions and get tips and pointers on how to carry your firearm in case you need to draw from an alternate position as well. Top Gun Shooting Sports trainer’s are the best downriver to provide you all the advanced training you will need if you want to become truly proficient and ready for any situation when carrying your firearm!
